SOUTH EASTERN KENYA UNIVERSITY HOSTEL RULES & REGULATIONS 2026

1. Eligibility & Allocation

All regular students are eligible to apply for university accommodation.
Priority during high demand: Student who has booked for vacancy early on time.
Allocation is strictly first-come-first-served upon successful payment of booking fee.

2. Booking Procedure

Non-refundable booking fee: Ksh 1,500 (deducted from semester accommodation fees).
Submit your application via this official portal only.

3. Safety & Conduct

Respect all university staff and fellow students.
Report lost keys immediately: Replacement fee Ksh 500.
No unauthorized guests or visitors overnight.
Cooking strictly in designated kitchen areas only.
Quiet hours: 10:00PM – 6:00AM daily.
University not liable for personal property loss or damage.

4. Prohibited Items

Unauthorized electrical appliances, heaters, cooking devices.
Alcohol, illicit drugs, weapons, and flammable materials.
Unapproved extension cables or power boards.

5. Damages & Vacating

All damages will be charged to the responsible student.
Rooms must be fully vacated by end of every semester.
Check-in and check-out inspections are mandatory.
University reserves right to re-allocate or terminate accommodation for rule breach.

OFFICIAL NOTICE TO ADMITTED STUDENTS

Following a joint directive from the Department of Health Sciences and the Accommodation Office at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU), this is to officially notify all health sciences students of the upcoming relocation from the Main Campus to the Kitui Town Campus.This transition is designed to place students closer to primary clinical training sites, health facilities, and relevant professional resources in Kitui Town,the South Eastern Kenya University Accommodation Department wishes to inform all 2,3,4 students on health sciences and business economics that hostel spaces are fully furnished at kitui town campus and will be prioritized to those who made their booking on time.

To secure your accommodation, you are required to pay a mandatory booking fee of KES 1,500 via this official payment channel provided. This amount will be deducted from your total semester accommodation fees upon reporting.

Students are advised to complete this process early to avoid missing out on hostel space. The balance of your accommodation fees must be settled within the first week of reporting to the university.

Official Procedure:

Complete payment as instructed on the next page.
Submit payment verification details correctly.
Receive confirmation email within 12 working hours.
Print and present your booking confirmation slip during admission.
